Today, we left Hamburg and headed to Berlin early in the morning. When we arrived in Berlin we went to visit the Reichstag for a tour. The Reichstag is basically the White House of Germany, and its size represented that. When we finally made it through security, we were given the tour of the Parteiengesetz, which is a room where the meetings of all the political parties of Germany meet to make large decisions. In the room, there was a statue of what looked like a fat eagle. Curious about it, we asked what the eagle meant. We were informed that it is the symbol of Berlin, and it was made to look fat so that it seemed friendlier then the original eagle. Next, our tour guide discussed all the different political parties’ beliefs and the different rules of the meeting room. After this, our tour guide gave us further insight on how the rest of the building was designed. At the top of the Reichstag there is a glass dome that you can take to the top and get a beautiful view of Berlin. The Reichstag was an incredible building that I would highly suggest a visit to if you ever go to Berlin.
