What would you do if your best friend called you today and asked if you wanted to go to Germany for a month? This is the story of how, me, a Louisiana Tech University Student made it on the E3 study abroad program. It all began on the day my best friend called me after class and told me that LSU was inviting students from other schools to go to Germany to study abroad. I was a little confused because I didn’t know how this was going to be possible, or even how expensive it was. However, he gave me the contacts to all the people in charge, and they were all super helpful in getting me started with the program. I’m sure you can imagine the process wasn’t exactly easy, but everyone working with LSU were super helpful and understanding if I had any issues. There were times when I was late in submitting certain things, but when I told the instructors they did everything they could to help me figure out what to do. Also, LA Tech is on the quarter system, so we didn’t get out of school till May 18th. The first assignment was due on the 15th, as you know, this was in the middle of my finals, and once again the instructors worked with me to move all my assignments to work with my schedule. I also was a little concerned that I would feel awkward being the only student that was not coming from LSU, but the way the instructors have everything planned out helps us get to know everyone. If anything, everyone was excited to talk to me about the way engineering at LA Tech relates to LSU engineering. I am very grateful for the way LSU has treated me and gave me the opportunity to study abroad!
