Everyone slowly finished their breakfast and headed to our 9 AM class. We were in the conference room at our hotel located in the middle of the beautiful Alps. We were all still a bit sleepy and even the simple tasks proved to be tricky to us this morning. It took about thirty minutes until we were fully functioning, and it was movie time! Maybe you have seen a description of what E3 movie days are like from the previous blog written from Hamburg, but if you didn’t, I will briefly explain it here. How it works is our group of twenty students gets spit into five groups of four and is given a map with a certain place in the city circled, and this is where your group is to go. Once you have found you destination, you must capture it. The only guidelines given for the adventures are that we should include the culture, engineering, and history of the given place. A popular way for the group to capture the area has proven to be through videos. Our groups tend to take a lot of pride in these videos and healthy competition also arises. The destinations for this round of videos taken in Berlin consisted of Potsdamer Platz, Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Berlin Victory Column, and Bernauer Straße. These videos are an amazing way for the everyone in the group to see parts of the city that they may have missed. They are also funny and educational, so everyone looks forward to this time in the classroom. When “movie time” ended, the group split into our smaller groups to work on our final projects and shortly after lunch was served. All in all, a very productive and relaxed day in the classroom.

Happy Classmates
